Welcome to the MCRD Command Museum's Virtual Tour
MCRD San Diego’s Command Museum is one of three nationally recognized by the United States Marine Corps. The museum, originally opened in 1987 to honor and preserve Marine Corps traditions and history, features an extensive collection of exhibits with a focus on 20th and 21st century Marine Corps history as well as the presence of Marines in Southern California. In addition to seven major galleries and five smaller exhibits, the museum is also home to a world-class reference center which includes a research library and archive collection. The Command Museum is an integral part of Marine training and all recruits receive a docent led tour as part of their boot camp training.
